Our Raging Male Sex Drive: Fucking & The Long Hard Ride

For some, the grand finale of sex is the act of fucking.  Everything else, however enjoyable, is foreplay.  Such a perspective is highly understandable for heterosexuals, of course, given the natural instinct to copulate and, thus, procreate the human species.  Obviously, same-sex sexual relations are uncapable of producing offspring, but even so, the drive to simulate intercourse by penile penetration of the anus & rectum is staunchly engrained in many gay men.  Unlike straight couples, where roles are a given, male couples must designate one man as the top and the other man as the bottom. Some men are very fixed in their preferred fucking position, while others possess varying degrees of versatility.  In keeping with this of range of position preference, gay men tend to label themselves and other gay men as "top, top versatile, versatile, bottom versatile, or bottom."  I am certain anyone reading this already knows all that, but what the hell, I still felt inclined to offer a summary, for the purpose of official documentation, I suppose.

In respect to men fucking, in the gay culture and even more more so as viewed by mainstream heterosexual culture, the traditional stereotype is that topping is inherently masculine and bottoming is inherently female.  There is a logical basis for this supposition, of course, and like most stereotypes, there can be an element of general truth to it.  However, also like most stereotypes, it tends to be oversimplified and overstated.  Despite the traditional stereotype, gay men who enjoy getting fucked are not by-and-large effeminate, and men who top are not necessarily any more manly than the guys they're fucking.  I personally very much dislike the feminization of men in regard to anal intercourse roles or to anything else.  Sure, there are effeminate gay men out there in this great big world of diversity (who may or may not like to bottom) but the men I know, desire, love, and fuck are manly.  I would never behold them as feminine, nor would I refer to their holes as "manpussy" or "boipussy," both being terms I find wildly inappropriate and distasteful when used in reference to sexy & masculine men.  I love men, and men are not girly and do not have pussies.  When gay men fuck, it is beautifully man-on-man.  I have had sex with women, and I know the difference.  

Speaking for myself, in the wonderful world of gay sex, fucking is just one of the delights.  In the overall scheme of things, I don't necessarily prefer fucking over other sexual activities.  Sure, sometimes I'm really in the mood to fuck, and most guys with whom I have sex want me to nail them. Pleasing them pleases me, and I believe that attitude is a foundation of good sex.  Whatever your own perspective regarding the essentiality of fucking or your own orientation regarding the top vs. bottom position, the long hard ride is among our joys as gay men.  It's engorged dick, it's hungry ass, it's primal "pitching" and "catching," it's an explosion of semen, and it's all-man.  It’s the long hard ride.
